Bible
We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God.That the 66 books of the Old and New Testament were inspired by the Spirit of God as originally written.
That the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. · 2 Timothy 3:16
God
We believe in one God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.Jesus Christ
We believe in the absolute and essential deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His eternal existence, with the Father in pre-incarnate glory.
His work of creation, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, and bodily resurrection.
In His triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry, and personal return
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the absolute and essential deity and the personality of the Holy Spirit.Who convinces of sin, of righteousness, and judgment
Who regenerates, indwells, seals, sanctifies, illuminates, and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.
Who baptizes believers at conversion into the Body of Christ and bestows upon them His gifts sovereignly as He wills and fills those yielded to Him
Mankind
We believe that Adam was divinely created in the image of God.That by the sin of disobedience, he fell from that state.
That all his posterity inherited spiritual depravity and defilement.
That all men, therefore, are guilty before God and condemned to physical and spiritual death
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by the sovereign grace of God.That by the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a propitiatory death.
That justification is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That those whom God has effectually called shall be divinely preserved and ultimately perfected in the image of the Lord.

About Us
Since being formally organized in 1887, God has continually blessed our church and the many souls who have been a part of this journey. Learn more about the blessed paths that have led us to today.

The First Baptist Church of Flora was formally organized on Sunday, March 27, 1887, under the leadership of Dr. J.B. Gambrell, and the membership at that time totaled 32. Their first pastor was Brother B.D. Gray. Soon after the church was organized, members voted on how to divide the mission offerings, resulting in four designations: Foreign missions, Home missions, State missions, and Mississippi College. The membership grew as people brought letters to join the new church from their old churches, including Mound Bluff Church, New Hope Church, Beulah Church, and Pelahatchie Church. By the summer of 1889 the church had paid all its debts and was able to officially dedicate the church building.

At First Baptist Church, our mission is simple: to make much of Jesus in everything we do. We believe that Jesus Christ is the center of our faith, the foundation of our lives, and the hope for our world. Our desire is to reflect His love, serve others as He served, and grow together in faith. Whether you’re new to church or looking for a place to deepen your relationship with Christ, we welcome you to join us in this journey.
Meet Pastor Jon Daniels
I started at FBC Flora in March of 2020. I provide overall leadership and vision for First Baptist Church of Flora, focusing on "Making Much of JESUS!" This includes preaching and offering spiritual counsel and prayer to church members. My favorite aspect of the church is the authenticity of the congregation, expressing their genuine passion for Jesus and the Gospel, which makes me love this church family. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Vicki, since 1985 and we have three married children and seven grandchildren. My hobbies include hunting, discovering the best pizza places, spending quality time with family, and volunteering as a firefighter with the Flora Fire Department.

Whether through music, prayer, or preaching, God's word is at the center of all of our gatherings. Each service includes a time of prayer, preaching, and giving. The sermons are built on God’s Word, not the pastor's ideas, and aim at transforming our lives to be more like Jesus Christ. We have one traditional service (8:30 a.m.) that meets in the Sanctuary, and one contemporary service (11:00 a.m.) that meets in the Christian Life Center. Our Life Groups meet at 9:45 a.m.
-
There are designated guest parking spots to the west of the main sanctuary as well as to the west of the Christian Life Center where our 11:00 a.m. service is held.
-
We have greeters located at the doors who would be happy to help you find where you need to go.
-
We provide clean, safe, and well-staffed childcare during worship services, ensuring a welcoming environment for families and allowing parents to fully engage in worship.
**Background checks through Protect My Ministry are required to serve in the Preschool, Children’s and Youth Ministries.

At FBC Flora, we aim to create a welcoming, family-friendly environment where everyone feels comfortable. You’re welcome to wear whatever you feel is appropriate! Most people typically dress in a range of styles—from casual attire like jeans and a nice shirt to more traditional Sunday outfits like dresses or slacks.
The goal is to come as you are and focus on "making much of Jesus." So wear what makes you feel comfortable and ready to worship!
