VBS 2025 T-shirts are here! There is an image of the shirt on the form. If you want a shirt, please place the amount of how many you would like under each size. The deadline for ordering is Sunday May 4th! They are $15 a piece. If you have any problems with the form or any questions please reach out @jbarrett@fbcflora.org!
The purpose of our Children's Ministry is three fold :
to Know Jesus, to Love Jesus , to Serve Jesus
Our desire is that our 1st through 6th graders come to know more about Jesus through Life Groups, Missions and Choir. This knowledge leads to loving Jesus and accepting His gift of salvation. It is our desire that once a child has accepted Christ as their Savior that they begin a lifetime of service. Service opportunities are provided through additional activities.
“And we all ,with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
It is our prayer that our Children's Ministry will be a place of transformation into His image for our 1st through 6th graders.
**Background checks through Protect My Ministry are required to serve in the Preschool / Children’s Ministry.

Centrikid Camp points: Come to Life Groups!
Centrikid campers come to Life Groups and one point will be earned for each time he/she attends Life Groups on Sunday at FBC, Flora beginning April 6 through June 15 and they must check in electronically. These dates will exclude Easter. This is a total of 10 possible points and each point is worth $15.00. Therefore $150.00 credit is possible to receive. Points are not transferable.
Minister of Preschool and Children
I began serving as the Preschool and Children’s Minister at FBC Flora in October 2015, bringing 23 years of experience in the ministry. My role includes overseeing and organizing our Preschool and Children’s Life Groups, Missions Organizations, VBS, Children’s Choir, CentriKid Camp, Preteen Retreat, and numerous family activities throughout the year. I consider it a privilege to serve with the teachers and I love the sweet spirit among our families. I am blessed with a wonderful family that includes my husband David, daughter Cherish, and granddaughter Gaffney Ruth. Outside of ministry, I enjoy traveling.
Children's Ministry Associate
I have been a part of FBC since July 2021, working in the Preschool and Children’s ministry, I serve in Life Groups and Extended session, as well as participating in the choir, missions, Vacation Bible School, camp, winter retreats, and seasonal activities. I absolutely love the welcoming, homey atmosphere that the community here creates.
I’m currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, specializing in children, with the goal of continuing my education at the doctoral level. My passion for children runs deep, and I am committed to supporting them spiritually and emotionally through my studies and ministry.
Outside of my work at FBC, my family includes my parents, two siblings, and a number of beloved animals. I’ve always had a heart for serving children, loving on them and showing God’s love for them in every aspect of life.
