First Baptist Flora is passionate and committed to sharing the gospel for Jesus Christ, and we desire to be an Acts 1:8 church. In our quest to be an Acts 1:8 church, we are called to pray, give, and go so that people of all nations can hear the Word of God. The call that God has placed on First Baptist Flora begins in Flora and continues throughout the nations.
Mission Opportunities
There are several opportunities to serve and get involved with mission opportunities locally and abroad.

For the past 3 years FBC Flora has put together a team of approximately 20 people consisting of nurses, EMT’s and people with willing hearts and able hands to minister to the people of Pedernales, Dominican Republic.
This mission is primarily a medically focused one. We provide care to people who very rarely have access to any type of medical assistance or medication in the form of a temporary clinic. During the past three years, we have increased the number that we have been able to serve in the clinic to over 1000 people. This is an amazing opportunity to not only help so many people in need, but to use this platform to tell them about the love of Jesus Christ! We also have the opportunity to visit with the local people, share a gift of rice and beans, and spend time in worship with them at a local church, which our team helped to make a significant size addition to during last year’s mission trip! For more information about how you can help or if you feel called to “Go” please reach out to Shayne Jones.

Our Food Pantry Ministry exists to serve individuals and families in need within our community. We are committed to providing essential food items to those facing challenges, with the goal of meeting immediate needs and offering hope during difficult times.
This ministry is entirely volunteer-driven, and we rely on the hands and hearts of our church family to help make a difference. We invite all members and guests to get involved by volunteering their time and skills to help pack, distribute, and organize food for those who need it most.
Whether you're new to the church or a long-time member, there are many ways to serve in this important ministry. Your time and effort can provide not just food, but also a tangible expression of love and care to those who are struggling.
We distribute food on the second Wednesday of each month. Together, we can be a source of support, compassion, and hope for our neighbors. If you're interested in volunteering or learning more about how you can be part of this ministry, please contact Mark Sandifer (msandifer@fbcflora.org)
