The Men’s Ministry at FBC Flora exists to inspire and equip men to lead Christ-centered lives at home, in the church, and in the community. Through Bible studies, fellowship, and service opportunities, we aim to build strong relationships, foster spiritual growth, and encourage men to embrace their God-given roles as leaders and servants. Whether it’s a casual breakfast gathering, a service project, or an in-depth discipleship group, there’s a place for every man to connect, grow, and make much of Jesus
Major (Ret) Dante Fontenot spent 27 ½ years in the Army with a multifaceted path which took him up through the enlisted ranks as Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO-SGT), Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) and finally as a Commissioned Office (Major). Dante went to flight school in 1990 where he learned to fly UH-60 Blackhawks Helicopters and later in his career he learned to fly AH-64 Apache Helicopters. He and his family endured 3 deployments in support of Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) V and XII, and many other trips that separated them for extended periods time. It was their strong family ties and faith in God that saw them through these toughest of times. Since his retirement from the Army, Dante has continued to use his skills in aviation as a Branch Manager for the Delegation and Resource Branch in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This Branch provides oversight for designees the conducting service under the provisions of the FAA. Dante has traded his service to the US Army to using his life lessons and experience learned there in combination with his love of speaking and sharing what Christ has done in his life to change the lives of Youth, College Students and Men’s Groups. Dante is currently leading a life group for 25-Thirty Something and leading Men’s Bible Studies. Recently Dante felt the Lord calling him to reach out to men incarcerated at the Federal Prison in Yazoo, and has started a prison ministry for the men who need support and mentorship. His biggest desire is to help other’s avoid scar-tissue learning and put into action Matthew 28:18-20 “The Great Commission”.
